The Nutcracker Returns to Campbell River for the Holidays
The beloved holiday production, The Nutcracker, is making its way back to Campbell River, set to take place at the Tidemark Theatre on December 13 and 14. This marks the tenth annual performance by River-Port, featuring a blend of local dancers from Vancouver Island alongside professional guest performers and choreographers. A significant highlight this year is the debut of a senior dancer from Studio North Dance Academy in the role of the Sugar Plum Fairy, a milestone that reflects the growth and dedication of the young performers who have been part of this tradition. Artistic director Jen Soo expressed her pride in witnessing the journey of these dancers from childhood roles to leading positions. To celebrate the tenth anniversary, past participants of the Nutcracker will also return for special appearances, reconnecting with the production that ignited their passion for dance. Performances are scheduled for December 13 at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m., with an additional show on December 14 at 2 p.m.
